Public Hearing – Special Permit – Sippican Café – 167-169 Spring Street, c/o Joe Monger
The public hearing notice was read into the record.  Mr. Monger was present for this meeting.  The project involves the construction of a 7’ X 7’ breezeway and the request is for a Special Permit allowing a reduction in the front yard setback (35’ required, approximately 28’ will be provided).   Chairman Napoli asked if the breezeway will impact parking at the front of the restaurant and was told it will not.
Member Magauran explained that this project was reviewed previously under two other Special Permit requests and the requirement for this Special Permit was discovered during the previous review.
Abutter John Sweeney voiced support for the request.
Vice-Chairman Winters asked if public access or street trees will be provided in the project.  Member Magauran said that probably would not be practical due to the way the parking lot is set up.  Member Gonsalves asked if landscaping will be done and was told yes.  Member Crowley said there is a requirement for one tree for every eight parking spaces and asked if that will be met.  It was agreed that there were enough trees on the site to meet the requirement.
Board members had no more questions or comments.
Moved by Member Magauran and seconded by Member Crowley to close the public hearing.  VOTE:  7-0-0

Respectfully submitted,

Jay Ryder, Clerk
